The clear and comfortable aligners are custom made to your accurate specifications, and contain no metal whatsoever. Treatment is easy and accessible; all you need to do is wear your aligners for at least 22 hours per day to see results. At Wigston Dental Care, we use Spark clear aligners for a successful treatment experience and truly incredible results. Made from TruGEN™ material, Spark aligners are exceptionally clear and designed with a scalloped edge for increased comfort. Unlike fixed braces, Spark clear aligners can be taken out of your mouth at any time, enabling you to eat, drink and brush your teeth as normal.

Using innovative dental technology, we take digital scans and images of your teeth, which are used to create your accurate and comfortable Spark TruGEN™ aligners. When your aligners are ready, we show you how to fit them and take them out of your mouth, and give you the first set to take home.
You need to wear your clear aligners for 22-24 hours per day, to allow the gradual forces to get to work on moving the positions of your teeth. Although they are removable, each time your aligners are out of your mouth your treatment is effectively on pause, so it is very important to remember to pop them back in as soon as possible.
At regular appointments in our practice, we check your treatment is going to plan, make small adjustments if necessary, and advise you when to move to the next set of aligners in the series. We are always on hand for support and welcome you to get in touch between appointments if you have any questions or concerns.
At the end of your treatment, we love seeing your newly confident straight smile! We give you a final retainer to help maintain your results and keep your teeth straight for the long term, and arrange a review appointment for a few months after treatment.

The clear aligners themselves are designed to fit snugly over your teeth and are very comfortable, easily enabling you to wear them all day. You may experience some slight discomfort and a feeling of pressure when you first start wearing a new set of aligners, but this is perfectly normal and a good sign your treatment is working! The discomfort should fade in a couple of days.
Yes, you will be able to do most sport and exercise while the aligners are in your mouth, as they will not fall out or affect your training. For some contact sports, it may be advisable to take your clear aligners out and replace them with a custom mouthguard to protect your teeth and gums.
Clear aligners are nearly invisible when worn, so your friends and family won’t be able to tell you are wearing aligners unless you decide to tell them!
Clear aligners use gentle and gradual forces to carefully move your teeth into their desired new positions. These forces are only at work when your aligners are in your mouth, so it is important to wear them for at least 22 hours per day to avoid disrupting your treatment and inevitably making it take longer to achieve your results.
The length of clear aligner treatment depends on each individual case, and factors including the condition of your teeth and how far they have to move. On average, clear aligners treatment is completed for most patients in 12-18 months.
A retainer is an incredibly important stage of your clear aligner treatment. Teeth have a habit of moving back to their original positions over time, so wearing a retainer stops this from happening and maintains your new straight smile. We often advise wearing a removable retainer overnight for the long term to keep your smile as you want it.
